ABOUT US
The UAB Rocketry Club is a student-led organization at the University of Alabama at Birmingham dedicated to advancing STEM education through hands-on rocketry projects. As the first club of its kind at UAB and in the Birmingham area, we provide students from diverse majors with opportunities to design, build, and launch high-powered rockets, fostering practical skills in engineering, project management, and teamwork.

Our team will be competing at the NASA University Student Launch Initiative (USLI). Through this competition, our team will showcase their technical abilities, explore engineering applications in the real world, learn how to analyze flight and payload data, and become acquainted with the engineering design process and rocket fabrication.
Along with competitions, we participate in educational engagement events in the Birmingham area. Our events present a great opportunity to help kids realize their potential and discover the joy of rocketry! If you are interested in visiting the team or having us visit your students, reach out to us!
Additionally, we facilitate career-building and educational activities for our members. We offer a mentorship program for our members to become certified in high-powered rocketry through the National Association of Rocketry (NAR). We also engage with industry representatives to expose our members to career opportunities and help them create professional connections.
